Some time ago, Novell released a new version of their odf-converter, that allows you to open OpenXML files (docx, xlsx, pptx) in OpenOffice 2.X.
I know that OO.o 2.3 opens docx files already, but this plugin gives better support to that “format” for does who need to open it.
I’ve created a .deb to install in Ubuntu, you can get it HERE (32bits)
*Updated package, I had uploaded the wrong one, sorry*
Hope it helps.

Copying what was said in the dev mailing list of Winehq :
The 1.0 release of Wine is tenatively scheduled for he 15th anniversary of the project (roughly 1 June 2008, if you take Dan Dulitz’ message as the start of the project,
http://groups.google.com/group/comp.os.linux/msg/7f92abdf494ab8b3 )
Over the last six or so months, the wine developers have identified 180 or so bugs as possibly being worth fixing
before the 1.0 release.
63 of the Wine 1.0 bugs have already been fixed:
http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?target_milestone=1.0.0&resolution=FIXED
101 are left to fix:
http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?target_milestone=1.0.0&resolution=—
We can’t fix all of these before the 1.0 release; we’ll have to leave some for later. If you want a say in which of these bugs get fixed sooner, please vote for your favorite bugs. To do this:
- sign into Bugzilla (you need to register, but that’s easy)
- pull up your favorite bug from the above list,
- click on the ‘Vote for this bug’ link on the bug.

Today when I went to getdeb.net I discovered a game named TeeWars, and its ADDICTIVE!
Fast-paced sidescrolling multiplayer-only shoot ‘em up computer game. The game features cartoon-themed graphics and physics, and relies heavily on classic shooter weaponry and gameplay. The controls are heavily inspired by the FPS genre of computer games.
I Recommend IT!

Installing the latest Firefox 3.0 Beta 3 in Ubuntu Gutsy is really simple and you just have to use Synaptic. Just enable the Backport repositorie and install Firefox 3 b3.
System - Administration - Synaptic Package Manager
Settings - Repositories - Updates Tab
Enable “Unsuportted Updates (gutsy-backports)“, close, and press RELOAD
Now, just search for Firefox 3 and install it
You will still have Firefox 2 installed together with FF3

O “Botequim” : http://twiki.softwarelivre.org/bin/view/TWikiBar/WebHome
Os artigos em pt_PT:
https://twiki.softwarelivre.org/bin/view/TWikiBar/TWikiTasca001
https://twiki.softwarelivre.org/bin/view/TWikiBar/TWikiTasca002
Neste momento só meti os 1 e 2, depois vai-se tratando do resto.
Então, alguém disposto em ajudar ?
