January 17, 2007 – 2:23 pm

Finally Adobe has release Flash 9 for Linux! it took some long time, but finally its out.

I’ve been using the beta 2 since it came out, and this release is a great improvement, working just fine with no breaks.

Download Player : Flash 9 For Linux

To Install:

$ tar -zxvf install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz

$ cd install_flash_player_9_linux/

Install using the command:
$ ./flashplayer-installer

An alternative method is to copy the libflashplayer.so file to the plugin folder of the browser:

sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/

Have Fun!

PS: Thanks for the tip Kmos

  1. One Response to “Flash 9 Final is OUT!”

  2. Put it in ~/.mozilla/plugins/ instead and let your package manager bother with installing files system wide. This has been my way to ensure my system stays clean.
