Changing /etc/hosts
Just by doing this small change, the Xorg will be more responsive, making the applications start faster.
For the example the hostname will be ubulaptop.

Finally Beryl 2.0 stable is out!
* New Plugins
- Thumbnail: Thumbnails on the taskbar (window list) which show a mini view of the actual window

2 little tips for Nautilus that may help you.
1- Nautilus Open Terminal
With this plugin you can open the folder you wish in nautilus using the right-click menu, just install the package nautilus-open-terminal .
2- Browse Nautilus has Root
I think this is self explanatory, to browse files and folder having root permissions.

Finally the day has arrived, NTFS-3G Stable Release is out!

There are still some issues :
- access to encrypted files
- writing compressed files (reading is ok)
- change file ownership and access right
But the rest is fine. I've been using it for about 3 months and it's rare to see an ...

Created by njpatel, Avant Window Navgator (Awn) is a fully customizable dock-like bar which sits at the bottom of the screen tracking open windows for GNOME.
It uses composited to apper (that means you have to have Beryl or Compiz active for it to work) and libwnck to show open windows, ...

Audacious is a fork of BMP ( beep-media-player ) that has a great look, very simple, and easy functionality. Has the touch of Classic Winamp.
It feels better than XMMS in my opinion, better setting manager, has some nice plugins ( you can get more at the projects web page ) ...
