Here is a speed test with a test file given by them in the wiki.

I think it has a good speed for a shared environment like is.
One of the things I liked, was the information available and the community. We can access:
- Articles - Tutorials and tecnical articles to help config the VPS
- Wiki - Tips and trick
- Forum - Talk to everyone.
I’m liking the service, and its easy to use. I’ll do a post about the Management system that Slicehost gives.

Também tenho a minha slice (256) há uns meses para um projecto que tenho em hibernação mas movi para lá o meu blog há um par de semanas. É rapidíssimo, e consigo sempre bastante mais do que os 200kb que aqui mostras. Com o yum (CentOS) aquilo faz sempre acima de 1MB/sec, e o ssh tem um lag mínimo.
Para o envio de mail estou a usar o postfix (o resto tenho no Google Apps), mas tenho problemas a enviar para alguns domínios (Yahoo, Hotmail). Como descalçaste a bota?

é capaz, como disse, o ambiente é partilhado, logo pode haver dias melhores do que outros.
Ainda não configurei um sistema de emails. quando tiver tempo para isso depois testo
