Audacious is a fork of BMP ( beep-media-player ) that has a great look, very simple, and easy functionality. Has the touch of Classic Winamp.

It feels better than XMMS in my opinion, better setting manager, has some nice plugins ( you can get more at the projects web page ) and its already in Feisty repositories!

It’s a great choice if you just wanna list to music without all the extras like libraries manager and stuff like Rhytmbox as.

I’ve decided to talk about one of my projects in the Ubuntu Community.

The GuiaUbuntuPT.org (Portuguese Ubuntu Guide) is based on the MediaWiki system, the same used by Wikipedia.

The goal is to have documentation about/for Ubuntu in Portuguese where anyone can collaborate and submit new info and help translate the UbuntuGuide.org.

A friend of mine told about this terminal, i think its useful, so I decided to share it

Tilda is a terminal with no border and is hidden until a key is pressed, then it reveals it self in the configured position. Press the key combination again and it hides.

You can configure the font, size of the window, and some other options.

Install in Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get install tilda

To start it:

Alt+F2 and run : tilda &

The first time you run it, the configuration window will open. If you need to change the setting type :

$ tilda -C

To make it start automaticly, just add it to your session in:

System - Preferences - Sessions - Startup Programs.

There is another software alike, its name is yakuake (Yakuakes Page) and it for KDE.

I’ve discoverd this game today, its a Worms Clone under the GPL.

You can play with one of the many teams available, with characters going from Tux, Gnu, Alien, Thunderbird, etc etc, and you have to destroy the adversary team using a collection of available weapons.

I’ve been playing the 0.74 version, and it does not have a option to play in a network, only multi-player on the same pc But i think the next version will already support this hehe
